A lightweight overview of the different business models explored over inaglobe's lifetime.
Over the course of the years, inaglobe's biggest challenge was to establish a sustainable business model. The organisation adapted to different opportunities that we wanted to test. We originally explored for-profit structures, under the premise that the net value created from the work that we did could be captured to foster more access. Then, as the capturing of that value looked complicated, we decided to explore non-profit models that would allow us to gain traction and demonstrate the value that our model could bring.
Here is an outline of all the business and revenue models tested and the learnings achieved (note that we tested many of these in parallel and we expected a mixed and diversified set of revenue streams):
